GLENEAGLES TOWNHOUSE BAR CONCEPT DESIGN
I had the great experience of collaborating (with members of the in-house Ennismore team) in the development of the ground floor bar design concept for the new Gleneagles Hotel at St Andrew Square in Edinburgh.
My responsibility was to integrate the concept of a bar and all-day dining area, developing a front and back bar in the centre of the space, while preserving the historic buildings and delivering a viable commercial offer which would ensure the long term success of the property and contribute positively to the view of this beautiful hall and iconic building of the ex-Bank of Scotland, built in 1846 by David Bryce.
The design inspiration was a collection of existing details including the magnificent exterior Corinthian columns and the countless interior decorative elements, together with contemporary iconic building and design details collected through the “design journey.
